You can't go wrong with a good cotton fabric. I use these fabrics for the backing fabric of all of my made items. I like to use busy and bright fabrics for the outer and then a plain matching for underneath. 

Available in Fat Quarters and Metre Lengths.
£3 per FQ / £28 per metre.
100% Linen.

When ordering multiple fat quarters fabric is cut in a continuous piece.
If you would like more than a fat quarter please order in  multiples I’ve a helpful guide just below if you’re unsure. It will be cut as a single length if multiples are ordered.
Quantity 1: Fat quarter: 50cm x 55cm
Quantity 2: Half Metre: 50cm x 110cm
Quantity 4: Metre: 100cm x 110cm
